Nine LSU AgCenter educators recently won top honors for their home-buyer education program at the Louisiana Extension Association of Family and Consumer Sciences annual meeting. NORCO - St. Charles Parish honored 71 employees for their attendance and service during the 27th annual Civil Service Awards breakfast held at La Maison Magnolia reception hall. The St. Charles Parish 8 and under All-Star softball team recently went undefeated and took home first place in the Westside Warmup tournament in Brusly. On June 10, Willowdale Country Club defeated Metairie Country Club, 486 to 468 at the club in Luling. The results are as follows. The 11-man St. Charles Parish Race Club just wrapped up the second of five racing events for the Louisiana R/C Challenge 2009. Montz resident Dorothy Richard, 65, who died on May 22 after her vehicle became submerged in the murky canal off of Airline Highway, is remembered as a caring woman who only wanted the best for her family and community.

After a number of requests to the state have failed to elicit much response, Council President Terry Authement wants to initiate a task force to draw attention to the many problems motorists encounter while driving on U.S. 90.
